Stephen Fry at his best

Stephen fry is one my favorite comedians along with Hugh Laurie, George Carlin and Russel Peters (!xobile :) ). Here’s a segment from BBC’s Intelligence squared debate where he pairs up with Christopher Hitchens and decimates the Catholic church and its age old beliefs and the horrific crimes it has committed against humanity and still is doing so. (Okay just to clarify, I have nothing against people who follow Christianity; but the crimes committed by the Church is a fact which the Pope himself has acknowledged. )

Its a 5 part series and you should be able to see the remaining parts (in the right column or the main player itself) soon after completing each part.

I like Fry’s killer logical argument totally destroying the Archbishop’s and Ann’s hopeless and feeble attempts to defend the church.

A brilliant must read piece by Atanu Dey on the state of affairs in India: http://us.asiancorrespondent.com/atanu-dey-blog/the-unbearably-sad-reality-of-india.htm

Cooking story – I

I was feeling really hungry the other day and was too lazy to cook anything “decent”, so came up with a quick snack idea and prepared “Roasted garlic potato”. This is something all lazy bums (like me :) ) can prepare when you really don’t feel like getting into the elaborate cooking process.

Here’s the recipe:
1. Cut 3 potatoes into small cubes.
2. Add a little bit of oil and mix well.
3. Add black pepper, garlic salt (the one with parsley in it) and some powdered onion.
4. Mix well and roast in the oven at 450F for like 30-35 mins till they become brownish and are a little crisp.

Done!

It tastes awesome (try eating it with ketchup) and is kinda like french fries but a much much healthier version of it! :)

I have more of such lazy cooking ideas and I shall keep posting them.

Super"bowl"

Conversation between my hairdresser and me recently:

Hairdresser: Hey cheer up…you look very tired… Whats up?
Me: Oh…I was watching the Australian open finals… So was up the whole night…
HD: The Australian what??
Me: The Australian open…
HD: Whats that??
Me: (a bit shocked and surprised) Its..its..a tennis tournament!
HD: Oh… So did you play in it??
Me: (Wtf??) No no… its a professional tournament and its being played in Melbourne, which is in Australia…. hence the name…
HD: Ok.. whatever…. So who you rooting for in the Superbowl today?
Me: Superbowl?? Umm… I am not much into football and stuff….
HD: (rolls her eyes and sighs)
